像Friends, Home Improvement, Growing pain, Fresh Prince of Bel-air, everybody loves Raymond 这样的生活喜剧（sit-com）可以看，或者像7th Heaven, One Tree Hill 这样的生活剧(drama)也可以，甚至卡通片与科普片都可以，总之要生活化。不要看一些动作片或过于专业的，像CSI或ER等，对话有点难，词汇比较专业，用处不是很多。有一些太深入国外文化的也暂时不要看，没有背景不好懂。

另像《电子情书》、《西雅图夜未眠》也不错
高中生看《公主日记》1、2都很好，尤其1是反映美国高中生活的
《阿甘正传》、《情归巴黎》、《虫虫特工队》 Forrest Gump(阿甘正传)经典中的经典
《旅行冒险记》都不错
